You know the story. Chicken soup makes people feel better. If someone gets sick you will surely think of gradmas and chicken soup. Who knows where this originated from, but its been passed down for generations and traditional chicken soup for your colds continues today. When I am stuffed up, the steam from the broth clears up my sinuses.

You dont have to make chicken soup completely from scratch. There are many high quality instant mixes and bases that you can take advantage of, and either add your own ingregients to, or just cook and serve. You can also find soups made in restaurants or grocers such as Boston Market or Whole Foods. These soups taste better than anything I could ever make at home, and its become a popular choice for me. You can purchase a quart of it and it will last for a week in the fridge, or even better freeze it! Chicken soup freezes extremely well, and you just have to heat it back up again and your ready to rock.

These little books are wonderfully inspirational and are available online and at most bookstores. The inexpensive books are chock full of amazing stories of friends, happiness, and optimism. They are the perfect complement to someone who is feeling sick and stuck at home or in bed, and can be just as benefitial as the chicken soup itself.
